What I’m Into This Week

This week has seriously gone by SO FAST!  I feel like I’m always saying that, but I mean it this time.  Blake and I both had really busy weeks with work, and this heat wave somehow made everything seem more difficult.  Like really, I feel like I haven’t stopped sweating!  So here are a few things I’m into that have made my week a little easier… Dirty Lemon Detox | Vix Pleats Bandeau Top | Vix…

Tolani Collection | West Hollywood

My Monday was spent running around L.A. for castings, which can normally be a pain (especially during a heat wave like the one we’re currently having) but yesterday was a good day.  I actually ran into so many people I know (and really like) at the different casting agencies, which was so refreshing.  A smiling, familiar face makes an otherwise awkward process so much more bearable.  I also got to get lunch in Malibu with…

Sawdust Festival | Laguna Beach

This past weekend, we finally went to the Sawdust Festival.  You guys…I LOVED it.  The Sawdust Festival takes place every summer in Laguna Beach.  It’s known for handmade jewelry, blown glass, pottery and ceramics, photographer, and paintings.  A dear friend of mine, Katelin, is about to get married, so we met her there to find some gold rings for her big day. My favorite part of the day was when we stopped to watch a glass…

Swim Collective 2015 | Huntington Beach

Last week was a pretty exciting one around Orange County – our own “Swim Week” – as the Swim Collective trade show took place in Huntington Beach.  I LOVE going to this show – previewing all the new swim lines coming out, seeing old friends, and meeting new ones.  In the past, I’ve worked the show as a model, but this year I decided to cover the event both for my blog and my agency, No Ties…

What I’m Into This Week

It’s Friday! This week flew by, as most weeks do in the summer time :).  We have a wedding tonight for one of my favorite people in the world (Mr. Ryan Baughman) and then we take off to camp at the lake for the weekend with my whole family.  Life is good!  I’ll leave you with a few things I’ve been loving this week. Wildfox is back on Hautelook!  Which means it’s a REALLY good day…

Behind the Brand | Gladys Tamez Millinary

I love learning about processes, and how things are made.  When I was little, I watched an episode of Mr. Rogers where he visited a crayon factory to show how crayons are created.  The machines, the assembly…it all got me!  Ever since then I’ve been hooked – I love to see the “behind the scenes” of the products I love.  This is why I was so excited when Blake and I were invited into the…

The Last Day | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Today is the LAST day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year!  Guys, it’s been a good run.  Don’t be sad that it’s over, smile because of all the good stuff you got ;).  Blake and I did one last sweep this morning to get some necessities (mostly underwear and socks! ha!).  We went through one last time and picked our favorites of what’s left!  Notice I have a lot more on my list than…

Fair Nights | Orange County

Just like peanut butter and jelly, peas and carrots, Rocky and Bullwinkle, to name a few, summer nights and the fair is one of those classic combos. And it only happens during a small window every year, so you have to go for it when it’s available. Growing up in Utah, they have some pretty good fair offerings. Most of them are smaller, individual fairs, but they have all the necessities like fried food, farm animals and…

Happy Thoughts on a Thursday

Some happy thoughts I’ve had lately: First of all, this “Happy Thoughts” shirt is part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, which we still have 4 more days to shop!  And it’s only $17 :). “Happy Thoughts” Tee | J. Brand Flare Jeans | Wedges (similar on sale here) | Gorjana Bondi Cuff  | Gorjana Loop Chain Bracelet | Gorjana G Rings |Komono Sunnies The other night I somehow got the commercial jingle for that old toy, the Ribbon Dancer,…

Behind the Brand | Nena & Co.

Sometimes I love what a brand makes, but then when I find out what’s behind that brand I fall in love a little bit more.  That’s definitely been the case over the last few years with Nena & Co.  Not only are the pieces beautiful and unique, but it’s a brand supporting an amazing cause.  They work with Guatemalan artisans to create hand-woven textiles that are used to make all of their pieces.  Recently the brand moved…
