We spent this last weekend with family in Saint George, doing the usual, and I loved it.  We caught up with family, lounged by the pool, listened to lots of country music, had fresh smoked tuna from my cousin, played games with the kids, stayed up late, and laughed a lot.  I will forever feel so lucky to have the family that I do.

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was taking out the LeBaron for a sunset cruise, just Blake and I.  We had so much fun, driving on back roads with oldies cranked up.  Blake brought his camera with him, so just before the sun went down he snapped a bunch of pictures.  There’s a sweet story behind the old Chrysler LeBaron, which makes it feel even more special.  Here’s a short version…

So my brother-in-law Blake’s (yes, he is also named Blake so don’t get confused) Grandpa John bought the car brand new for his Grandma Peggy.  She drove the car for a while, and then when Blake’s sister Kelly got her license, they gave her the car as a gift.  She drove the car through high school and college, and then the car was eventually sold and left the family.  Almost 30 years after it’s original purchase, Blake’s dad tracked down the car and as a surprise for his wife (and a sweet reminder of her father, John) he bought it back.  Now it’s back in the family, and they keep it in Saint George to cruise around in whenever they’re there on vacation.  Pretty great, right?
