“For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains.”

This past weekend, we got to experience the RiSE Festival for the second time, this time with some family and friends that are family.  It was so special for us to be there with them.  We got there early and listened to music, ate, and danced around with my nieces.  One of my favorite parts was seeing the sweet wishes and thoughts my  six-year-old niece Tae wrote on her lantern.  She is such an amazing little human!  Once the torches were lit, we got ready to launch the first round lanterns together.  The feeling of that initial launch in unison with everyone is hard to describe, but it’s amazing.

I thought a lot about what I’d write on my lantern, but I actually found myself just writing names of people I love.  People that are gone and people that are far away, and the people that were there with me in that moment.  At first I was hard on myself for not having some epic goal or wish, but then I realized that it’s ok.  That’s me, I love the people that I love, with all my heart.  What would you write on your lantern? 😉
